Q. Are staff/students required to quarantine or otherwise stay away from school following return from international travel? Does the 14 day exclusion from school still apply?

A. Quarantine requirements are determined by the Federal Gov't. These Federal requirements are subject to frequent change so please check COVID-19 TRAVEL: Checklists for requirements and exemptions and Travel to Canada: Requirements for COVID-19 vaccinated travellers resources for more information prior to international travel.
Some students must wait 14 days before returning to school – see below.

Health Canada can be contacted at 1-833-784-4397.
  • Fully vaccinated students can return to school without delay. No mask required.
  • Unvaccinated students aged 5 through 11 years old travelling with fully vaccinated adults can return to school without delay – however they are required to wear a mask for 14 days in all public settings (including schools).
  • Unvaccinated students 12 or older must quarantine for 14 days upon arrival.
  • Students who cross international borders due to custody arrangements can return to school without delay.
