Administration Team
Hello from Mr. Gruenenwald and Ms. Ramsey!
Welcome back to a brand-new school year at Springvalley Middle! We are so glad to see returning families and to welcome the many new students and staff joining our community this year. Each September brings fresh energy and excitement, and we are looking forward to another year of growth, discovery, and success together.
This year, our school theme is Heroes. Heroes come in all shapes and sizes—sometimes they’re people we read about in history books, sometimes they’re community members we look up to, and often they’re the classmates and friends sitting right beside us. Being a hero doesn’t always mean doing something big; it can mean being kind, standing up for what’s right, helping someone in need, or showing courage when learning feels hard. Throughout the year, we’ll explore what it means to find the hero within ourselves and to see the hero in others.
Our district focus this year is on stewardship—taking care of the people, places, and things that matter most. At SMS, that means looking after each other, our learning spaces, and our wider community. Stewardship and heroism go hand in hand: when we act with responsibility, care, and respect, we help make our school and community stronger for everyone.
As always, we believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. We will continue to collaborate with our Rutland family of schools and work hard to support each student’s academic, social, and emotional growth. To make this a success, we encourage open communication between school and home. Please reach out to your child’s teachers or to us anytime—you are an important part of your child’s learning journey.
We are excited for the year ahead and all the opportunities it will bring. Together, let’s make this a year filled with growth, kindness, and courage. Most of all, we invite you to find your inner hero.
